SOLAS
Solas has been the biggest phenomenon in Irish traditional music in years. In America, their critically acclaimed albums have been consistent best sellers. They have toured relentlessly to a rapturous reception from critics and fans alike, appearing on national radio and television shows such as Mountain Stage, A Prairie Home Companion, Echoes, Morning Edition, World Café, and others along the way.
All five members of Solas are brilliant players: Seamus Egan on flute, banjo, guitar, pipes and more is a phenomenon whose own solo albums are widely praised as is his work on the soundtrack to The Brothers McMullen. Lead vocalist Karan Casey has a unique vocal sound which is showcased on her own solo album. Winifred Horan on fiddle, John Williams on accordion, and John Doyle on guitar are champion instrumentalists who give Solas an unmatched fire and energy.
