Mint Condition broke through in the New Jack Swing era but they were in their own unique lane as a self-contained band harking back to such classic R & B bands as Earth, Wind & Fire, Kool & The Gang, The Ohio Players of the 70’s. Led by lead vocalist Stokley, the band is beloved by R & B fans for their high-energy live shows as well as their string of hits such as “Breakin’ My Heart (Pretty Bown Eyes)”, “Forever In Your Eyes”, “U Send Me Swingin’”, “Someone To Love” , “What Kind of Man Would I Be,” and “Caught My Eye”, the early hits benefiting from the production by industry icons Jam & Lewis. Name-checked by Prince as one of his favorite artists, Mint Condition lives up to that with every album, every performance delivering a dynamic mix of R&B “baby-making” balladry, hard-bitten funk and screaming rock guitar.
