FATOUMATA DIAWARA
A Grammy-nominated artist From Mali, African singer/guitarist/songwriter Fatoumata Diawara is one of the most exciting “new generation” artists on the world music scene. Though steeped in the traditions of her homeland, her music mixes elements of electronica, rock and pop laced with her own incendiary lead guitar solos. As such she has won a world-wide fan-base beyond the usual “world music” audience. Featured on NPR’s Tiny Desk concert series, she was the only African artist on the 2022 Afro-futurism Festival in New York City. A striking film actress as well as musical performer, the charismatic Fatamouta continues to break new ground.
