CRYSTAL BOWERSOX

Crystal Bowersox burst on the national scene as runner-up in the 2010 American Idol season but she didn’t fit the Idol mold. From her beginnings as a street singer and folk-circuit performer, she has always been rooted in folk, country , blues and rock ‘n’ roll. Her debut album of country-tinged pop garnered acclaim especially for her country-tinged ballad composition “Holy Toledo.” But the Idol platform gave her the opportunity to perform alongside such diverse stars as Alanis Morrisette, Joe Cocker, Harry Connick, Jr. Micheal Franti and B.B. King. Her second album, for which she wrote or co-wrote all but one song, was produced by Steve Berlin of Los Lobos, enabled her to tour consistently across the nation. The constant through it all has been her warm, powerful voice and soulful delivery which is unmistakable and memorable.
